The Town of Barnstable’s fall construction season begins Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Construction is anticipated to continue on portions of the following roadways:
- Bearses Way, Hyannis
- Ocean Street & Gosnold Street, Hyannis
- Shootflying Hill Road, Centerville
- Route 28 (Falmouth Road), Centerville*
*Construction within Route 28 will occur overnight to mitigate business and traffic impacts. Work is anticipated to commence mid to late September; more detailed communications to follow.
Throughout construction, access to businesses and residences will be maintained, with traffic control personnel onsite to assist motorists as needed. Outside of work hours, traffic patterns are expected to return to normal. Please use caution when traveling through construction areas. Even after roads are reopened, surfaces may be temporarily uneven or unfinished until work is complete.
