Starting Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the Town of Barnstable’s Contractor, Daniel O’Connell’s Sons (DOC), will begin mobilizing within the vicinity of 228 Straightway, Hyannis, in preparation for the construction of the new Straightway Water Treatment Facility. Work will occur Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Increased construction vehicle traffic in and around the area of Straightway can be expected.
This project is critical to improving the drinking water quality, reliability, and resiliency of the Town of Barnstable’s Hyannis Water System. A series of public informational meetings and outreach efforts have taken place throughout the project’s design.
