Summary
Planned roadway and sewer construction in the area of Mother's Park, Centerville, will require the closure of Phinney’s Lane, from Route 28 to Main Street (Centerville) and the closure of Main Street, from Old Stage Road to Pine Street during construction hours, Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Starting Friday, November 7, 2025, the Town of Barnstable’s contractor, C.C. Construction, Inc., will begin mobilizing within the vicinity of Mother’s Park in anticipation of planned roadway and sewer construction as part of the Centerville Village Sewer Expansion Project – North Phase. Work will occur in phases and will include:
- The realignment of the intersection at Phinney’s Lane, Main Street (Centerville), and North Main Street; including the planned decommissioning of Mother’s Park Road
- Enhancements to Mother’s Park, including the addition of approximately 3,485 square feet of green space, new sidewalks, crosswalks, and enhanced handicap accessible parking
- The construction of a new sewer pump station
- Sewer construction within Phinney’s Lane, from Route 28 to Main Street (Centerville)
This work will require the closure of Phinney’s Lane, from Route 28 to Main Street (Centerville) and the closure of Main Street, from Old Stage Road to Pine Street during construction hours, as shown in the accompanying figure. Construction will occur Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, weather permitting. This traffic pattern is anticipated to remain in place through May.
