Centerville Village Sewer Expansion Project – North Phase
Sewer Construction to Begin on Shootflying Hill Road
(Hyannis, MA – February 27, 2025) Starting Monday, March 3, 2025, the Town of Barnstable’s contractor, C.C. Construction, Inc., will begin sewer construction on Shootflying Hill Road, as part of the Centerville Village Sewer Expansion Project – North Phase. Work will begin within the vicinity of 944 Shootflying Hill Road and move north, towards Service Road. This work will require Shootflying Hill Road to be closed to thru traffic from Great Marsh Road to Service Road during construction hours, as shown in the accompanying figure. Construction will occur Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:00AM to 4:00PM, weather permitting. This traffic pattern is anticipated to remain in place through May.
Throughout construction, residents and first responders will continue to have access to properties along the project route. Traffic control personnel, barriers and detour signage will be in place to safely guide local traffic within the closure. Dependent on the location of the active work zone, it may be necessary to access properties along Shootflying Hill Road from alternate directions. As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through road construction areas and follow posted safety and detour signs.
This project is the third major sewer expansion project under the Town’s 30-year Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan (CWMP). Staff from the Barnstable Department of Public Works hosted a public information meeting on October 1, 2024, which provided an overview of sewer construction in the area. This meeting was recorded and can be viewed via Barnstable Government Access Video on Demand, here: https://bit.ly/CVSENorth.
