Robert B. Our Co. Inc., a contractor working for the Town of Barnstable, has been approved to continue construction as part of the Route 28 West Sewer Expansion Project through the summer. Work will be limited to local roads only.

Construction is planned to begin on Marion Way and progress onto Oldham Road, Osterville.

* Please refer to the map and anticipated schedule of traffic impacts that is included with this notice. Schedules are weather dependent and may vary.

To help residents and vistors prepare, a letter was mailed to all property owners located within close proximity to the planned construction and associated local road closure(s), which included the following information:

Construction will occur Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

  • Traffic control personnel and detour signage will be in place to safely guide local traffic within identified road closure(s).
  • Traffic management is coordinated with the Barnstable Police Department, fire and emergency services, the United States Postal Services, and the Barnstable Public Schools.

Work will pause for Federal Holidays. This includes a period before and after each holiday, as follows:

  • Memorial Day: No work will occur from Friday, May 22 to Tuesday, May 26
  • Juneteenth: No work will occur on Friday, June 19
  • Independence Day: No work will occur from Friday, July 3 to Tuesday, July 7
  • Labor Day: No work will occur from Friday, September 4 to Tuesday, September 8

Resident and Emergency access will be maintained.

  • Depending on crew location, you may need to use alternate routes when navigating to and from your property during work hours.
