Sewer construction continues across the Town of Barnstable, with multiple road closures and traffic changes in Centerville and Osterville.

Additional projects include: intersection improvements, off-road water main upgrades, and culvert repair, all with varying impacts.

Here’s a quick snapshot of where you can expect to see activity across Town:

Overnight Sewer Construction & Road Closure

  • A portion of Route 28, Centerville (Phinney’s Lane → Old Stage Road)
  • Monday thorugh Thursday evenings
  • 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM

Daytime Sewer Construction & Road Closures

  • Bumps River Road, Osterville (Osterville-West Barnstable Road → Pond Street)
  • Old Stage Road, Centerville (Route 28 → Great Marsh Road)
  • Shootflying Hill Road, Centerville (Service Road → Great Marsh Road)

Culvert Repair & Extended Road Closure

  • Hawes Avenue, Hyannis (Ocean Street → Whidden Avenue)
  • This portion of road is closed 24/7
  • Access to Kalmus Beach via Ocean Street

Single-Lane Alternating Traffic

  • Intersection of  Asa Meigs Road and Cranberry Ridge Road, Marstons Mills
  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Off-Road Construction (No Impact to Traffic)

  • Marstons Mills Sewer Pump Station
  • Mother’s Park Sewer Pump Station
  • Mary Dunn Water Main Upgrades
