Since late 2025, work has been occurring at the Water Pollution Control Facility off of Bearse’s Way. Until now, that work has primarily been related to getting the site ready, establishing worksites, and making sure the facility can continue to operate throughout the project. On Thursday, March 20, 2026, construction really kicked off with the pouring of concrete for the new deoxygenation/aeration splitter structure. This will bring wastewater through, stripping it of air and distributing fine screen effluent to the aeration tanks. From there, it begins the BardenPho Process, which you can learn more about by visiting BarnstableWaterResources.com/WPCF, or stay tuned for an upcoming video.
