Today’s Update:

Eugenia Fortes Beach remains closed to swimming. Three water samples, retrieved from this Beach during the past three consecutive days, were found to exceed the maximum acceptable limit for Enterococci bacteria. The latest sample exceeded both the single count and the geomean limit.
A fourth sample was taken today and it will be analyzed in the laboratory tomorrow. However, even if no growth occurs within that sample, the geomean failure status will not change this closure situation. Three samples showing little or no growth are needed to re-open this beach due to its current failed geomean status.

A fifth sample will be collected tomorrow Friday, July 16th and will be analyzed in the laboratory on Saturday, July 17th.
