Real-Time Road Closures and Traffic Management

Sewer-Related Road Closures | Updated May 13, 2024:
(Overnight Paving of Route 28) On Monday, May 13, 2024, the town will finalize paving on Route 28, with the installation of line striping. Striping will occur during off-peak, overnight hours, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Traffic within the vicinity of the striping operations will be modified, including necessary closures of Route 28 and detours.
(Main Street, Hyannis) The Town of Barnstable’s contractor, RJV Construction Corporation, has completed in-road sewer construction for the season. Current activity consists of testing and temporary restoration along disturbed roadways. All current activity requires single-lane alternating traffic and will occur Monday through Friday, from approximately 8:30AM to 5:00PM, weather permitting. The contractor is anticipated to demobilize from the roadway by Thursday, May 23, 2024 in observance of the summer season. In-road sewer construciton is expected to resume this Fall.
Onsite constructon of the new sewer pump station, located at 725 Main Street, will continue. Thiw work will be contained to the project site, and will not impact traffic. Construction of the 725 Main Street Sewer Pump Station is part of the Town’s Sewer Pump Station Rehabilitation Program.
